“Between the entrance and the altar LET THE PRIEST, the ministers of the Lord, WEEP and say, “Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations.” (Joel 2:17)
In a few days the country will vote.
Hateful fight poisons our spaces.
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We fight, we lose friends and divide families until we will remain alone.
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We communicate, but we don’t build communities. We create content, but our content doesn’t bring us together in communion. We are busy marketing our ministries but we don’t leave everlasting marks.
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We immerse ourselves in the jungle of information in the hope to be enlightened but we fall in the abyss of darkness even deeper.
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We are busy overcoming those on the other side, since they are the root of all of our problems.
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We are the brave and the free. We don’t see how hopelessly lost we are!
Weep, priests, weep! – commands the Lord.
We don’t weep. We can be spared by the right person at the right position. We don’t believe that ONLY GOD can spare us!
Weep, priest, weep! – commands the Lord. Weep between the entrance and the altar, so people and God could see you weeping! At times like this, weeping is the spiritual leaders’ number one mandate!
Weep and confess the many sins of this nation and the church!
Weepers will change the future of this nation. We exhausted all other alternatives.
“I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares the Lord God.” (Eze 22:30–31).
